Directly from educational institutions, teachers, and students when you provide it to us.

Automatically as you navigate through the site. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies. No information will be use for tracking for advertising or profiling a student.

From third parties whom you have provided personal information to for business purposes.

If you are using the service as an Educational Institution, Student information may be visible during Customer Support and/or Troubleshooting.   Personally identifiable information such as Student Name, Student Email Address, file names, creation dates of files, login dates and times, and third party applications which students use could be viewed on our service by Product Support Staff.

We collect Student and Child data including some of the following:

Student Information: Course Assignment, Grades, Base Assessment, Assessment for each learning objective, Self-assessment for each learning objective, Student profile picture, Student email address

School Information: School name, address, municipality, email address, organization code, telephone number. Educational level

Parent Information: Name and email address

Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Website. This includes information provided at the time of creating a personal account. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with our Website.

Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.

Details of transactions you carry out through our Website and of the fulfillment of your orders. You may be required to provide financial information before placing an order through our Website.

Third-Party Subprocessors

Speechcloud shares information with other partners, vendors and trusted organizations to process it on our behalf in accordance with our instructions, Privacy Policy, and any other appropriate confidentiality, security or other requirements we deem appropriate.  These companies will only have access to the information they need to provide the Speechcloud service.

Info shared: teacher and student details (name, email, Student LMS ID, grades).


Stripe Payments: Collects payments, can save card data on Stripe’s end

Info shared: Stripe reports if the payment was successful, and records the user’s email address for communications.


Google: audio for transcription (if turned on by the teacher) and Analytics tracking

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your account profile page. Please note that some content will not be deleted given various compliance and recordkeeping obligations schools have. Please contact your (or your child's ) school if you would like this content deleted. If the school determines that the request should be implemented, they may submit a request to us.

All users, including School Users, can delete their accounts and all Personal Information associated with the account at any time by contacting us at info@speechcloud.com to request deletion of Student Records associated with the School’s use of Speechcloud. Please note that Speechcloud cannot comply with a School’s request to delete Personal Information in a user account except for School User accounts created by a School (i.e., using a School email address and/or an account login provided by or associated with a School) pursuant to a contractual agreement between the School and Speechcloud. The School is responsible for managing Student Records that the School no longer needs for educational purposes by submitting a deletion request when such data is no longer needed. Schools should contact us at  info@speechcloud.com. To object to or restrict processing please contact us at the email address in our Contact section below.

If you are using the service as an Educational Institution, Student information may be visible during Customer Support and/or Troubleshooting.   Personally identifiable information such as Student Name, Student Email Address, file names, creation dates of files, login dates and times, and third party applications which students use could be viewed on our service by Product Support Staff.

Right of Parents and/ or students: We do not collect parents or student’s information on our website, nor do we offer account access to parents or students. Your Educational Agency uses Speechcloud services to assist with the administration of school-related activities and to provide a streamlined way to collect, organize, access, and report your information for educational purposes. These uses are specific to each Educational Agency and are governed by the contract between Speechcloud and your Educational Agency.

Your Educational Institution determines the information collected, maintained, and processed using Speechcloud services. If you have any questions regarding the collection, storage, and use of the information your Educational Institution shares with Speechcloud, please contact your Educational Institution directly.

If you delete your User Contributions from the Website, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Website users. Proper access and use of information provided on the Website, including User Contributions, is governed by our terms of use https://www.speechcloud.com/legal/terms.

Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. We urge you to be careful about giving out information in public areas of the Website like message boards. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Website.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website.

If Speechcloud becomes aware of a systems security breach by an unauthorized party or that any user data was used for an unauthorized purpose, we will comply with relevant state and other data breach laws. We will notify users of any breach resulting in unauthorized release of data electronically, at minimum, and without unreasonable delay so that you can take appropriate steps. The notification will include: date of the breach, the types of information that were subject to the breach, general description of what occurred, and steps Speechcloud is taking to address the breach.

Change of Control

Over time, Speechcloud may grow and reorganize. We may share your information, including personal information with affiliates such as a parent company, subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us, in which case we will require those companies to agree to use your personal information in a way that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.  

 In the event of a change to our organizations such that all or a portion of Speechcloud or its assets are acquired by or merged with a third-party, or in any other situation where personal information that we have collected from users would be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by that third-party, this Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your information, and any acquirer would only be able to handle your personal information as per this policy (unless you give consent to a new policy). We will provide you with notice of an acquisition within thirty (30) days following the completion of such a transaction, by posting on our homepage and by email to your email address that you provided to us. If you do not consent to the use of your personal information by such a successor company, subject to applicable law, you may request its deletion from the company.

In the unlikely event that Speechcloud goes out of business, or files for bankruptcy, we will protect your personal information, and will not sell it to any third-party.
